#Move4MS - January Challenge 2025
150,000 people are living with MS in the UK
Let’s move one kilometre for each of them in our January challenge.
Walk. Run. Cycle. #Move4MS
#Move4MS ends in...
#Move4MS
How to Participate
- Join our Strava club: Be part of the Move 4 MS movement
- Start Moving: Whether you walk, run, hand bike, cycle, swim or choose another favourite activity, every kilometre contributes to our collective goal.
- Track Your Progress: Log your activities on Strava and be part of the Bike the UK for MS community. Track your personal achievements using the link below!
- Donate: You or your supporters can donate to Bike the UK for MS and help to support those 150,000 people living with MS in the UK.
To see your personal achievements and leader boards, make sure to set your Strava account as public!
Why #Move4MS?
Every step, pedal or stroke you take in the Move 4 MS challenge contributes to a collective journey of support and awareness for the 150,000 people living with Multiple Sclerosis (MS) in the UK. Here’s why your movement matters:
- Raise Awareness: Your movement isn’t just physical; it’s a powerful stride towards understanding and support.
- Community Impact: Your participation fuels a community dedicated to positive change, increased research and improved lives for those with MS.
- Fundraising for Change: Beyond the steps and kilometres, your participation drives fundraising efforts. Every pound raised contributes to research, support services and initiatives enhancing the quality of life for those with MS.
Achievements
This year we are introducing an achievements table! with both individual and team awards you can reach the top of the table in the following leader boards:
Number of activities completed – the amount of run, walk, swim or cycle activities completed throughout the whole of move 4 MS
Total distance covered – the total distance covered in all activities – to make this challenge as accessible to everyone as possible, running and walking will have a 2x multiplier and swimming will have a 5x multiplier for the achievemnet totals. The multiplier does not change the distance towards the 150,000km total.
Total money fundraised – Although fundraising is not a requirement for Move 4 MS, we want to celebrate those that do! You can set up your enthuse page and fundraise for the whole of your Move 4 MS journey in January!

How Do I Get Involved With Achievements?
1. Individual Achievements – Join our Strava Club, set your Strava profile as public and start moving!
2. Fundraising Achievements – Share the Move4MS donation link asking friends and family to donate! Make sure they mention your name.
3. Team Achievements – Fill out the teams form below to join or create a team and you will see your team name in the team achievements table once you hit the first goal!

On Sunday 28th January I will be tackling a swim challenge for biketheukforms #move4ms, swimming 🏊♂️ one 50m length for every £ donated to make a difference for people living with MS in the UK!
You amazing people have already helped me raise over £125 towards my £200 target, meaning 6.3 kilometres of swimming with 500m of butterfly! 🫶Let’s see if we can hit that £200 and 10 kilometre target🤩 And if we raise over £200… well I may have to swim until the pool shuts👀🌅
You can donate below or by the link in my bio, anything you can give would be amazing, and please share this as far and wide as possible… every £ can and does make a difference🧡

Want to make a difference to those living with MS in the UK, whilst making me suffer penance to the extreme for missing Wednesday morning swim sessions?
On Sunday 28th January I’ll be taking on a swim challenge for #move4ms, swimming 50m for every £1 donated to biketheukforms through my fundraiser/the linkinbio. If you fancy donating more, for each £10 or above donation I’ll do 50m of fly within the total… for anyone who knows my aversion to long swims/more than 25m fly at a time… all I can say is it’s worth the donation😂
Any donation from £1 upwards made between now and Friday will add to the total up to 10km of total swimming. So please give what you can for this amazing cause and to help create an epic challenge for me!

Lands End to John O’Groats… a ride so stunning we couldn’t pick one highlight🏞️, so read on as you swipe across to discover 5 of our favourite places on this epic route!
1. Bettyhill, Sutherland, North Coast of Scotland. A stunning area, with hills all the way to the coast, interspersed with stunning villages perched on harbours or hilltops. A highlight of the final overnight of our LEJOG ride🏕️.
2. Cheddar Gorge, Somerset, South West England. An epic climb (or descent!) through the ancient rock walls of the gorge. The cheese caves 🧀 may or may not be influencing its inclusion in the highlights, but either way, it’s certainly a stunning and memorable highlight of the first days of LEJOG!
3. Glencoe, Argyle, Scottish Highlands. The land from which Britains tallest mountains protrude🏔️, Glencoe is stunning vista after stunning vista. Whether mountains, Lochs, Streams or Valleys, wherever you look it’s sure to amaze and inspire as you enter the final days of LEJOG.
4. The Struggle, Ambleside, Cumbria, the Lake District. One of the multitude of famous climbs nestled in the English Lake District, the Struggle sits as an incredible climb, featuring sweeping bends, stinging gradients, and stunning views🚵. An optional extra an intrepid few tag onto the route, with the main route taking Kirkstone Pass, an equally epic climb. Whichever pass is taken, it’s certainly a highlight of the Lake District, and LEJOG!
5. Lands End, Cornwall, (Very) South West England. Lands End… what to say! It’s the start of the journey, yet it’s already resplendent in Surf, Cliffs and (sometimes!) Sun☀️🌧️. The very end of a country already has dramatic appeal, but with views like these to go alongside it, there’s no doubt why it sits in our highlights!
6. Behind the Scenes! A little glimpse into making sure that the photo matches the location I believe it does… verifying the view with some google maps exploration🔎
Where would your highlights of Lands End to John O’Groats be? Share them with us below!⬇️⬇️⬇️

RAG season is back! Over the years, we have worked with a number of university RAG organsiations, and this year is no different! Bike the UK for MS is excited to be partnered with Manchester @uomraiseandgive Nottingham @nottinghamkarnival and Loughborough @lsurag_externalevents for the 2024 trip season.
We’ve loved getting to visit the Manchester RAG fair on the 25th September, spending the day in the Student’s Union promoting our rides for 2024. It was great to see the interest across the whole range of our trips.
Our next event will be the Loughborough University Unlock an Activity Night on the 9th October! After multiple years of Loughborough students joining us on our NC500 trips, we can’t wait to share our new London to Paris @lsurag_l2p trip with a new year of Loughborough Students!
If any Loughborough students are interested please do come down and visit us, we’d love to share more information on the challenge with you, discuss bikes or even just say hello!

2024 RECAP
In 2024 we reached 96% of our 130,00km target and with your help we are looking to smash our new target of 150,000km in 2025!
In the first week of January, 186 people were moving to help reach our target, and things did not slow down as the weeks progressed. By the end of January we had 355 participants helping us strive towards the goal.
Avid Sport put in a brilliant team performance covering the most distance as a group of 9,466km. An honourable mention to Uni of Bath in second covering 7099km!
Let us share your journey this year by sending us pictures and making your Strava account public.
