UK Programme Manager
We are seeking a motivated and dedicated individual to join our growing charity as the UK Programme Manager. This role offers flexible working hours and location, provides an opportunity to work on all aspects of the charity and have a real impact on its direction. As UK Programme Manager, you will be supporting our current team with event management, marketing, and process development. You will work independently, with support available whenever necessary, and collaborate with an internationally-based team.
Job Responsibilities:
1. Challenge Coordination:
- Shape the fundraiser/rider journey from initial application to joining the alumni family.
- Handle rider relations by answering queries or concerns from riders and offering advice and encouragement.
- Plan pre-challenge logistics, including accommodation, route leader training, vehicle suppliers, rest stops, and MS Group events.
- Serve as head route leader on the road for year 1 and manage a team of volunteers to ensure a positive experience for riders.
2. Marketing:
- A major focus of the role will be developing and executing our digital marketing strategy, including email campaigns, organic and paid social media, SEO, Google Ads and much more.
- In addition, you will be directly reaching out to the MS community, cycling community, and university students to build relationships and promote the charity’s mission and events.
- Develop alumni relationships to support marketing efforts and open new avenues for fundraising.
- Use social media to promote the charity and create a narrative throughout the year.
- Work with the MS Society to grow ties and support local groups.
3. Charity Development:
- Constantly seek new fundraising opportunities, such as new trips, one-off challenges, and corporate connections.
- Influence the direction of projects and create your own impact within the charity.
- Participate in grant applications, accounting, website design, trustee board meetings, annual budgeting, and future planning if interested.
Job Requirements:
- Ability to work remotely with regular audio and video calls.
- Ability to adapt written communication style to match the situation.
- Willingness to learn and grow within the role, with various development opportunities available.
- Strong work ethic and self-motivation to work independently.
- Excellent time management skills and ability to handle multiple projects simultaneously.
- Good communication and problem-solving skills, with the confidence to take on tasks without input.
- Knowledge or understanding of MS and Bike the UK for MS is a bonus.
