About Kevin OBrien
My name is Kevin O'Brien. This year, 2017, I am celebrating my 70th year by riding 1000 miles from John O'Groats in Scotland to Lands End in England to raise money for Bike the UK for MS. This will be my third charity ride for MS. In 2011 I rode 4,400 miles across the U.S.; and in 2016 I rode 400 miles from Maine to Vermont for Bike the U.S. for MS. In the process, I raised a combined total of approximately $17,000. This year I hope to raise $1500 for the U.K. charity. My goals are the same as in 2011 and 2017: to raise awareness and contribute in some small way to research to overcome MS.
I am a retired Special Education teacher and currently coach college rugby teams in Vermont. A number of family and friends in the U.K. and the U.S. are directly impacted by MS and the courage and strength they show inspires me to do what I can. While much of the focus is on achieving a cure, many people have to cope with the reality of daily life. We can help improve the quality of life for people with MS and their caregivers by supporting and publicizing Bike the UK for MS and Bike the US for MS.
You can make a difference. Please support the goals of finding a cure for MS and help improve people's daily lives by contributing to my ride from John O'Groats to Land's End.
